Today was “bunch of meetings” day so we can presume I had a bunch of meetings.
This week off and on I’ve also been providing editing assistant to daughter Elizabeth on her med school essays. She has gotten into the “less prestigious” schools now (whatever that really means) and I notice that there is a lot less angst writing these essays than the ones for the fancy schools. I’m suspecting there is a strong correlation between essay angst and how attached her mom is to a particular school.
I am glad she is focusing on the schools she can easily get into.
Helping edit is also fun. I see opportunities to take out words, simplify wording, and so forth. It’s interesting seeing college education writing and how it can be morphed to be more readable.
