DaughterB helped me move some boxes out of my apartment. Things that I wanted hand carried. She leaves for her summer internship in DC tonight so it was nice to catch up. Both daughters had been on vacation with their mom the last couple of weeks.
I think she is going to learn a lot in DC and I can’t wait to hear her stories.
We went to lunch at El Papagayo (http://www.elpapagayocarmichael.com/) and it was yummy as usual. I had shrimp with a habanero sauce and she had a chicken mole dish.
Otherwise I’m working. It is hard to keep up with my earlier plans for social media outreach. But I’m not going to lose sleep over it. Plans will come together when the time is right. I’m reading an interesting sales/marketing book right now that I’ll share more about later. Considering I think I’m an introvert, I’m doing a lot more work on at least appearing extroverted.
Oh, and if you install the privacy protection plugin from the people who run the excellent search engine DuckDuckGo, then it blocks Google Analytics from working in your browser. Which, if you think about it, is what you want. If it is providing privacy protection, it should keep sites from tracking you. That would be what you want. But if you also want to demonstrate that Google Analytics is working from your browser on your own website, it will confuse you. Or maybe it wouldn’t confuse you because you are smart. It confused me. Until I realized I had enabled that a couple of days ago. Now I no longer have an issue thinking that Google Analytics isn’t working on my site.
Emails about comments on this blog still probably don’t work. Rarely do problems fix themselves and if they do, it is almost always a cause for worry.
Hey, did I ever tell you the story about how years ago very late at night I spent about 4 hours trying to troubleshoot a problem with a prototype audio system my company was building? It was a new hardware product. I was trying to track down a problem with sound not working. It was late. Probably started trying to figure it out around 11pm. We were all tired. I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. Eventually I tried this one thing. And it worked. The volume on the speakers was turned off. We all laughed and got back to work. I didn’t make that mistake again.
