This afternoon was the Sons of Norway “Soup and Sweaters” event. You bring soup. You wear a sweater. Everyone eats soup. And you can tell a story about your sweater.
Norwegian sweater designs seem a little like Scottish tartan designs to me. Different regions have their own designs that get passed down through the generations. It was interesting.
I made a cream of broccoli soup from the CIA cookbook which I had not made in many years. It was really good and got lots of compliments. It is a reminder of what cream soups can be vs what people are used to from cans and worse.
