I ran across some material about persuasion I had not seen before. This is about how to write persuasively though it applies just as well to speaking.
What was especially interesting was seeing how it mapped as much to winning the presidency as selling soap. Using concepts such as appealing to peoples dreams and fears, identifying common enemies and other aspects.
There is great evil that could be done with such knowledge and it has been used for bad.
I’m not going to change course on my presentation or online course sales material at this point but I will start to revise with this in mind in future drafts.
It was an otherwise pretty relaxing day. I didn’t try to do much.
