Today was pretty snowy so we stayed in. By this point one of the patio tables looks like it has about a foot of snow accumulation on it. And there is a continuing insulation issue in the roof so icicles are forming in front of the kitchen window.
While pretty this is a problem because it indicates ice buildup at the edge of the roof. When everything eventually melts that can cause water to flow up under the roof shingles which gets to exposed wood and can cause rot and so forth.
Engineering for weather is different here than in my part of California.
My girlfriend Chris and I had a nice quiet day. Watched some TV, did some reading. I made meatballs for dinner.
