Day 210 – Writing

I resumed with the business networking and was happy to see the Tuesday group that had moved to a better restaurant before I left (Brookfield’s from Carl’s Jr) is now having decent attendance. There were about 14 there which was a nice change. My 30-second commercial was pretty uninspiring but I made it through. I chatted with some people. It was good to be there.

Next, I had a meeting with someone I met networking before I left who is a programmer. He wrote an app for museums that I really like the idea of but he is having trouble marketing it. He is young and he seemed to enjoy my stories about business and all and I think I gave him some good suggestions about things to do differently with marketing. It was at least refreshing to talk to someone with marketable skills and good sense about business. Or at least good sense about what he both does and doesn’t know.

After that I went back home via grocery shopping and got back to work. I started work on the thing where people can set up strategy calls to me. And while that sounds like a simple idea, there have to be words that give people a reason to want to talk to me. So I started writing.

It took longer than I expected, but I also wasn’t sure where it was going to go. What came out first ended up suitable for a handout for networking meetings so now I have a handout for tomorrow and Thursday. I wasn’t expecting that.

I’ve included it below. It is printed double sided and the page break is just before the “Why not schedule a call with me?” part.

That was pretty much my day.

Dear Friend,

You spend a lot of time running your business. Maybe all of your time. What’s taking so much time?

  • You’re Finding New Customers
  • You’re Taking Care of Your Current Clients
  • You’re Trying to Grow Your Business with Ads, Websites, Social Media, and All Those Other Things

And if you’re lucky, maybe you have time left over once in a while to do that thing which got you interested in your business in the first place. That thing you are really good at doing. That you want to share with people and make money with. That was supposed to be the point of all this, right?

Maybe you want to start a new business and don’t know where to start? Have you identified your ideal customer? Do you know how to price your products correctly? That can be bewildering. But here’s the thing…

If you can take a step back, none of these individual things are really that complicated. Sometimes the problem is trying to do everything at once. Sometimes it’s just knowing where to start.

This is where I come in. I offer a free 30 minute strategy call where I’ll learn about your business, give you feedback and suggestions and email you a report detailing strategies you can use right now to find more time, more clients, and more money for your business. All you have to do is call or email and we can schedule a time to talk. (Number is on the back…)

With what you learn, you could learn to reorganize your Facebook Group. Discover an easier social media strategy for your business. Get tips on how to choose a new web developer. Or even just get more free time in your day.

Why am I doing this? Part of this is market research for future products and part of it is genuinely wanting to be helpful. All you need to do is receive the benefits of a free conversation.

Why not schedule a call with me?

Maybe You think I’m going to give you a hard sell? I won’t. I promise. I admit, I do paid work for people. I am in business. I have clients. And they love me. However, if you and I aren’t a good fit or this isn’t the right time for you to make a buying decision, I have no reason to pressure you. My goal is to help you find solutions that are best for you now.

Maybe Your business doesn’t need any help? Then why did you read all the way to this point? Do you like my writing style? Do you need a writer? I do that for money, too.

Maybe You don’t know how to use a phone? Um, ok. There’s a YouTube video for that. Get back to me.

Maybe You don’t have time to change what you are doing? I completely understand this one. However, that itself is a problem. Constantly racing from thing to thing and appointment to appointment means you are overworked and can’t focus on the big picture. Are you craving a more calm business? I can help with that. Call me.

In short, If you need to:

  • find more customers
  • run an effective Facebook or Google ad campaign
  • find more free time in your day
  • find financial security for yourself and your business
  • get the confidence that you are on the right track
  • or a multitude of other things…

Then schedule a free 30 minute strategy call with me and I’ll be able to help you.

I look forward to speaking with you.
