Today was a rather long work day, I got a lot done, I feel good about it.
Maybe more interesting to me, the basil coming out of my mom’s vegetable garden is exceptional. It is much more flavorful and aromatic than other basil we can remember.
I used some in a chicken dish yesterday that was good and had some left over. Then I used the left over minced (and refrigerated) basil in some squash I cooked tonight and it was still really good.
It tastes very good and has a much stronger effect than I remember from fresh basil.
It’s still hot in Sacramento. Supposed to get down to the high 80s by Sunday and then back up to high temperatures next week.
